Win a $500 cash card!

What: Upload a photo of Fido's best portrait shot and beg, plead and cajole relatives, Facebook friends, neighbors to go vote for your dog (up to 10 votes per minute). Note: Only dogs from O.C., CA can win.

Dates: Sept. 1 through Oct. 7, 2009.

Prizes: Two winners -the top vote-getter and a judges' pick - will reign as Top O.C. House Dog of 2009. The winners each will run away with $500 cash cards.

The winners along with 98 top vote-getters will have their photos printed in the Register's Life section on Oct. 12.

Contest rules:

* One dog per photo, although households can submit more than one photo.

* Only Orange County, CA dogs are eligible to win.

* Please allow up to 24 hours for photos to be approved.

Any entry where automated voting is suspected will be disqualified. All voting must follow the rules and set parameters of the contest.
